Dr. Jonatan Schytzer is a Senior Lecturer in Private Law, Faculty of Law at Uppsala University, Sweden. Dr. Schytzer specialises in civil and insolvency law. He earned his Doctor of Law degree in 2021 with a dissertation titled ‘The Rise of the Claim in Insolvency Law,’ which received recognition from the Insolvensrättsligt Forum in 2022.

In 2024, Dr. Schytzer was appointed as an expert for the World Bank, contributing to a working group focused on climate change and insolvency law. This group aims to explore the connections between insolvency legislation and environmental sustainability, providing policy recommendations to legislators worldwide.

He has also been involved in interdisciplinary research projects, including collaborations with scholars from the Department of Business Studies at Uppsala University. One notable project, funded by the Jan Wallander and Tom Hedelius Foundation, examines corporate restructuring and viability assessments.

Beyond his research, Dr. Schytzer has been recognized for his teaching excellence, being named ‘Teacher of the Year’ in 2021 by law students at Uppsala University. He continues to contribute to legal scholarship through various publications and active participation in international collaborations.
