Dr. Rishikesh Wagle is the Dean of School of Law, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Dr. Wagle holds a degree of Ph.D from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and holds a degree of Master of Laws (LL.M), University of Pune, India under the Colombo Plan Scholarship Award. He is the recipient of King Mahendra Vidhya Bhusan “B” Gold Medal for standing first in LL.M. Dr, Wagle was also awarded with Lokraj Gyawali Gold Medal for Standing First in Bachelor of Law.
Dr. Wagle has a legal career of more than thirty years. He has worked as the District Court Judge having jurisdiction over both civil and criminal cases for about 10 years. He has served as Government Attorney (1993-2009) under the Office of the Attorney General of Nepal. He is also an APCAM (Asia Pacific Centre for Arbitration & Mediation) Certified Arbitrator admitted to the Bar in 1991.
Dr. Wagle ‘s selected publications are ‘Introduction to Transitional Justice and Its Nepali Context’ in 1:1 Journal of the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (2020)’ and ‘An Evaluation of the New Criminal Procedure 2018 from the Perspective of Human Rights’ in Sambahak: Human Rights Journal of National Human Rights Commission of Nepal (2019)’.
