ILA international short story contest on Insolvency and Bankruptcy : 2025 Edition
Insolvency Law Academy (ILA) is pleased to announce the 4th Edition of ILA International Short Story (Insolvency and Bankruptcy) Contest, under the aegis of Emerging Scholars Group (ESG).
The Short Story Contest, an innovative initiative launched by the Insolvency Law Academy (ILA), began as a unique concept to explore creative narratives within the framework of insolvency law in India. Over the past three editions, the contest has grown remarkably, attracting a diverse pool of talented writers and an ever-expanding audience of enthusiastic readers. With its thought-provoking themes, compelling storytelling, and a supportive jury, the contest has carved out a distinctive space in the literary and legal landscape. Now entering its fourth year, the upcoming edition promises to be the most exciting and inspiring yet, continuing to celebrate the intersection of law and creativity.
By way of this short story contest, ILA-ESG invites short stories from the public on ‘corporate insolvency and climate change topics’.
objective of the contest
Literature serves as a potent medium for sensitising individuals and fostering awareness. In particular, narrative forms such as stories exert a significant impact, often leaving a deep and enduring impression on readers. These narratives frequently encapsulate valuable insights derived from real-time experiences, empirical observations, or prevailing societal perceptions related to insolvency. Owing to their narrative structure and emotional resonance, such stories tend to exhibit greater longevity and enhanced recall value.
While promoting the much-needed conversation on corporate insolvencyand climate change and helping to raise awareness about the benefits of insolvency law. The short story contest will also serve as a means to gather resource material for ESG to study the notion of stigma and other negative perceptions that often act as impediments to the effective use of insolvency law.
